Research Interests
The main focus of my research is the social and ethical implications of the new genetic technologies, other research interests include: the sociology of risk, the sociology of the body and research ethics. Main themes:
- Cancer genetics: ethical and social issues
- The relationship between bioethics and empirical research
- The use of human sample collections (particularly DNA) as a research resource
- Lay understanding of health risks and risk management
- Lay-Professional interaction
